Aquatic fitness, or water aerobics, classes are extremely popular due to the great health benefits the zero-impact exercise provides. Participants ages 15 and up can improve their cardiovascular fitness, muscular conditioning and flexibility by taking one of the classes listed below.

For a current schedule of aquatic fitness classes and class descriptions, please visit our schedules page.

Aqua Arthritis (Low Intensity) - A program developed by the YMCA & Arthritis Foundation that provides gentle range of motion exercises for participants with arthritis or similar joint limitations. A medical release with a physician's consent is required for participation.

Aqua Strides (Low Medium Intensity) - A great beginner class that is designed for participants that are ready to start an exercise program. It combines water walking with a variety of moves and equipment to strengthen muscles and provide an aerobic workout. The focus is on cardiovascular fitness and increasing strength and flexibility in a safe and effective manner while enhancing kinesthetic awareness through proper body alignment and relaxation. This class is also good as a pre and postnatal aquatic fitness class that is designed to help the mother-to-be through her pregnancy, before & after giving birth and follows the guidelines set forth by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. If you are expecting, a physician's release is required for this class.

Aqua Motion (Low Medium Intensity) - A low to moderate intensity class for beginners or those recovering from injuries. This class is designed to increase endurance and strength through basic aerobic traveling moves, toning & stretching.

Aquacise (Medium High Intensity) - A moderate to high intensity workout designed for those who want to add a little more to their fitness routine. It includes a warm-up, cardio segment, cool down and toning segment.
Deep H2O (High Intensity) - A great cardio and strengthening class with no impact! Participants use floatation devices in deep water to provide an intense aerobic and strength training workout.

Finning (High Intensity) - A great way to burn calories and take off inches! Fins are used to create greater resistance in the water, which raises the heart rate and tones the body. This is not your typical swim or aerobic workout-but it has been proven to work! Some swimming ability required.
